Terms of Service

These terms are the agreement between you and CleanPrompter when you use the teleprompter at cleanprompter.site. We've kept them short and in plain language.

1. Accepting these terms

By using CleanPrompter (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.

2. The Service

CleanPrompter is a browser-based teleprompter that lets you write or paste a script and scroll it by speed, by total time or by following your voice. It is offered free of charge.

We keep improving the Service, so features may be added, changed or removed. We may also pause or discontinue the Service. Because nothing you create is stored on our side, stopping the Service can't cause you to lose saved work, but you should still keep your scripts somewhere else.

3. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU and UK), or have permission from a parent or guardian, to use the Service. If you use it on behalf of an organization, you confirm you are allowed to accept these Terms for it.

4. Your scripts

You own everything you write or paste into CleanPrompter. Your script is held only in your browser's memory while the page is open; we do not receive, store or claim any rights to it.

Scripts are cleared when you reload or close the page. That is by design, not a fault, so copy anything you want to keep before you leave.

You are responsible for having the right to use the text you display, for example when reading someone else's copyrighted material on camera.

5. Acceptable use

When using the Service, you agree not to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone else's rights;
  • attempt to disrupt, overload or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its infrastructure;
  • use bots or scripts to send automated traffic or spam through the feedback form;
  • copy, resell or reframe the Service as your own product, or remove our branding;
  • reverse engineer the Service except where the law expressly allows it.

6. Microphone and browser features

Voice scrolling relies on speech recognition built into your browser and requires microphone permission, which you grant to your browser and can revoke at any time. When on-device recognition isn't available, your browser may use its vendor's speech service, which is covered by that vendor's own terms and privacy policy, not by us. Accuracy varies by browser, language, microphone and environment, so always rehearse before an important recording or live event.

7. Feedback

We welcome ideas and bug reports. If you send us feedback, you allow us to use it to improve CleanPrompter without any obligation to you. We will never publish your email address.

8. Our intellectual property

The CleanPrompter name, logo, design and code are owned by us and protected by law. These Terms give you permission to use the Service, not ownership of it or rights to our brand.

Our pages may link to other websites, for example when comparing teleprompters. We don't control those sites and aren't responsible for their content or practices.

10. Disclaimer

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We don't guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every browser or device.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, CleanPrompter will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data, profits or opportunities, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. Because the Service is free, our total liability for any claim is limited to USD 50.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the laws of your country.

12. Ending use

You can stop using CleanPrompter at any time; there is no account to close. We may block access for anyone who breaks these Terms or puts the Service or other users at risk.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the Service changes. We'll post the new version here with a new effective date. If you keep using the Service after a change, you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the place where CleanPrompter's operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If you have a concern, please email us first; most issues can be solved quickly and informally. Mandatory consumer protections in your country of residence still apply.

If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
